Oil Maceration vs. Essential Oils

Posted on date html

Why promote macerated oils when essential oils already exist on the market? Well, it is imperative to know that some of the plants constituent elements are not recovered by the distillation process used in the manufacturing of essential oils. This method extracts only the smallest of molecules, thus most of the plants essence is therefore lost.

Maceration, on the other hand, captures larger and heavier molecules. Also captured are elements containing medicinal properties. With the use of different extraction methods, we gain a wide range of benefits that would otherwise be lost.

To make a poplar-based cream for example, we include an oily poplar macerate. This process enhances the therapeutic effect of the product.

Some essential oils cannot be extracted from certain plants. Therefore, maceration provides us access to the multiple therapeutic elements in each plant and integrate them into our products.
