Soap making workshop
Discover the art of soapmaking and the importance of understanding how oils interact with different ingredients. You'll also learn how to use a soap calculator, a useful tool for ensuring quality soap. We'll have the opportunity to make a batch of soaps as a group, which each of you can decorate as you wish. You'll take home your own little creation, which you can unmold once you get home!

The origins of soap
The different types of oils available on the market
Honey and beeswax
Essential oils and fragrances
Ingredients, decorations and patterns
Cold process vs. hot process
Necessary equipment and safety
Understanding and applying the soap calculator: the percentage of superfat, the percentage of water, measuring the volume of a mold
Group production of a batch of soap
When: Sunday, March 16
Workshop duration: 2pm-5pm
